Contact Darren

Darren Halpin, B.Com ASA FIPA
Managing Director

Darren has been providing business development and advisory services to our clients throughout Queensland for over 20 years. Responsible for the diversification of our client base to all the major regions in North Queensland, as well as Brisbane, Darren is based in Cairns and travels regularly to meet the needs of our remote clients. By working with clients to understand their business and needs, Darren develops business strategies in order to maximise the value and opportunities available to client businesses. A proactive client manager, Darren focuses on all aspects of our services from tax effective structures to business growth and succession planning.

Contact Noelle

Noelle Halpin, B.Bus CPA
Business Manager, Cairns & Innisfail

Noelle is our Business Manager and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Halpin Partners offices as well as providing taxation and BAS services to our clients. Noelle is originally from the Gold Coast and became part of our team in 2000 after completing her studies. Noelle and Darren have 3 beautiful little children – who may just grow up to be the third generation of Halpins in the practice!

Chris Norton,  M.Com B.Bus FCA
Director, Cairns & Innisfail 

With over 20 years public practice experience in Australia and England, Chris has a good understanding of the challenges that face many industries and works with his clients to develop strategies and solutions which take their business where they want it to go. Operating from our Innisfail and Cairns offices, Chris specialises in tax and business consulting to primary producers, small and medium size enterprises.

Contact Barry

Barry Shaw, B.Com FCA
Director, Cairns

Barry brings over 40 years of experience in professional practice to Halpin Partners following the merger of our firms in August 2011. Barry continues to work with a broad range of small to medium business clients in Far North Queensland and Brisbane in the development of their business and taxation strategies and has worked closely with client management teams in several successful business turnaround consultancies.

Contact Donna

Donna Chappelow, B.Com CA
Director, Client Services. Cairns

Donna has worked in Cairns and the surrounding far north regions from Cardwell through to Daintree and the Atherton Tablelands since 1982, when she completed her degree at James Cook University. Donna specialises in taxation and business services for small to medium sized businesses in a wide variety of industries, including primary production, construction and related trade services, travel, tourism, restaurants, pharmacy, medical and legal professionals.
Donna has technical expertise in all aspects of taxation, including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, PAYG and Superannuation, as well as other government imposed regulations including Worker's Compensation, BSA applications and Renewals, and Corporate Affairs matters.
In addition, Donna has extensive knowledge of MYOB and other accounting software applications and can provide advice on the right application for your business and assist with purchase, installation, training and support.
Donna is based in our Cairns office and travels regularly to meet the needs of our clients.

Contact David

David Maunder, B.Com CPA J.P. (Qual.)
Client Manager

A local from the Cairns region, David has been with the Halpin Partners team for over 11 years. David came to our team with a background in public practice and with extensive commercial experience. As one of our Client Services Managers, David is responsible for managing compliance calendars and providing business advisory services for many of our clients. David is based in Cairns and travels on a regular weekly basis to Innisfail and other towns as required in order to provide business services to his clients.

Contact Andrew

Andrew Hobbs, B.Com, ACA
Specialist Business Advisor

Andrew brings a wealth of business experience to the team at Halpin Partners. Prior to commencing with our firm, Andrew held the position of CFO for H&S Vision Group, based in Cairns. As CFO, Andrew was responsible for all financial and administrative functions of the group, which spanned operations across many industries including Property Development, Construction and Real Estate Sales and Rentals. Andrew supports our clients and professional team with business consulting services including budgeting and forecasting, IT and business development activities. Andrew is based in our Cairns office.

Contact Wayne

Wayne Halpin, FIPA FTIA
Business Consultant

Wayne is the founding partner of Halpin Partners. With over 40 years of experience, Wayne has worked extensively with clients on business development and advisory services. In semi-retirement, Wayne is currently providing advice across all arms of Halpin Partners’ services, leading the superannuation team and providing locally based clients with business strategies, growth options and succession planning services. A proactive advisor, Wayne has helped many clients achieve the success and stability that they have strived for. Wayne is based in Innisfail and is currently available 3 days per week.

Contact Adrienne

Adrienne Costello, B.Com CA SSA
SMSF Specialist Advisor, Cairns

Adrienne is a born and bred Cairns local. A Chartered Accountant with several years of taxation experience, Adrienne’s focus is in the Self Managed Superannuation area of our business. Adrienne is currently undertaking further study to develop her superannuation skills with the aim of being a recognised specialist in the self managed superannuation sphere. While the specialisation can be a minefield for many, Adrienne finds self managed funds an exciting field with continual changes to the legislation providing her with a never ending supply of reading material. Adrienne is based in the Cairns office.

Contact Emma

Emma Bain, CIMA Adv Dip MA
Client Accountant, Cairns

Originally from England, Emma has been in Australia since 2005 and has over 10 years experience in finance and accounting. She previously worked as a Financial Administrator for 9 years in local government in Leeds, UK where she gained her qualification in Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). Emma has 4 years experience as an Accountant in Australia and is currently completing further qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, which is equivalent to a Masters Degree. Emma works with all of our Client Managers and so has exposure to many different clients and industries. Based in the Cairns office, Emma is known for her service with a smile.

A part of our Client Services team, Pamela brings a diversity of experience to her role. As well as approximately 12 years experience in taxation and business services, Pamela has worked in industry for 6 years. Based in the Cairns office and working on a part-time basis, Pamela is a keen sailor and is involved in competitive yacht racing.

A local from Innisfail, Lola has been with the team for over 13 years. Lola is part of our specialist Self Managed Superannuation team and has significant experience in public practice with a focus on taxation and superannuation advice. Based in the Innisfail office, Lola has a young family and works with the team on a part-time basis.

After growing up in Cairns, Alison spent 17 years working in Brisbane before returning to the Far North in order to better indulge her passion for scuba diving and underwater photography. Based in the Cairns office, Alison brings a diverse wealth of knowledge and experience to our business.

Jeff Calligaro, B.Com BA CPA
Client Accountant

As part of our Client Services Team, Jeff brings a diversity of experience to his role. Having worked in the private sector for a number of years in the areas of engineering, transport and motor vehicle wholesale, he sought a different role and moved to Cairns in 1996 to start work in public practice. With over 15 years experience in public practice, Jeff has a good understanding of all areas of taxation and business services. Based in our Cairns office, Jeff works with all of our Client Managers and so has exposure to many different clients and industries.

Client Accountant Graduate

An Innisfail local, Craig is our trainee accountant, learning on the job while further studying. Craig completed year 12 in 2007 and provides accounting support to our professional and business services teams. As a younger member of our team, Craig also brings with him a good knowledge of computer programs. Craig is based in the Innisfail office, but also travels regularly to our Cairns offices.

Contact Shannai

Shannai Kukulies,
Client Accountant, Cairns & Innisfail

An Innisfail local, Shannai is our trainee accountant, learning on the job while studying her Bachelor of Business at James Cook University. Shannai completed year 12 in 2009 and provides accounting support to our professional and business services teams.  As our youngest member of our team, Shannai brings with her a youthful enthusiasm for learning. Shannai regularly commutes between Cairns and Innisfail offices.

Contact Rod

Rod Seeber, B.Bus CPA
Financial Controller, Cairns

Rod completed his accounting studies at Curtin University in Perth and worked in taxation for 10 years before travelling overseas and within Australia for three years. Upon completing his travels, Rod worked as Financial Controller for a large market gardening company before moving to Cairns in 2007. As internal accountant for our business, Rod is based in our Cairns office and is responsible for the day to day accounting, debtors, creditors and payroll of our own businesses.

Contact Kerrie

Kerrie McCrossen
Executive Assistant to Darren Halpin, Cairns

Originally from Tasmania, Kerrie has established herself as a Tropical North Queenslander!  Kerrie plays a key role in our team as the Executive Assistant to our Managing Director, Darren Halpin.  With a diverse set of skills and wealth of administrative experience, Kerrie has previously worked for several years on international cruise ships.  With outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, Kerrie's key responsibility is to provide administrative support to Darren including the management of his diary.  She is also the initial liaison for new clients and manages the corporate compliance and secretarial role.

Executive Assistant to Noelle Halpin, Cairns

Recently relocated from the Gold Coast with her husband and three kids, Amy is new to the Cairns area. With excellent interpersonal and communications skills, Amy plays a key role in our team as the Executive Assistant to our Business Manager, Noelle Halpin. Amy’s responsibility is to assist Noelle in all areas of business management including accounts receivable, training, marketing and human resource. She previously worked in the Film Industry in a similar role where she gained extensive Administration, Human Resources and Marketing experience.

Amanda joined the Halpin Partners team in 2000 as an administrative assistant and has since been responsible for all ATO taxation lodgements and assessments. Amanda also assists with all office administration and accounts receivable responsibilities as well as supporting the Superannuation team with their reporting and administrative activities. Amanda is based in the Innisfail office.

Ros Jones
Executive Assistant, Cairns

Born and raised in Cairns, Ros has been employed in the accounting profession for approximately 30 years. Ros began her career as an Office Junior / Receptionist of a then newly opened accounting partnership. Since that time, Ros has performed many roles in accounting firms and has experience in all facets of administration and accounts. Ros is based in our Cairns office and provides administrative and accounting support for our Client Managers.
