Announced: QLD Government – Small Business Grants

As part of the recently developed economic recovery plan, the Queensland Government has announced three new grants to support small business.

The grants are designed to provide a further $25 million to small businesses to help them to survive and thrive amidst the pandemic.

Business Growth Fund (BGF)  –  $50,000

The BGF targets high-growth businesses who can accelerate growth, drive Queensland’s economy and employ more Queenslanders.

This grant is designed to assist small and medium sized businesses to take advantage of growth opportunities by funding the acquisition of highly specialised equipment.

There are three stages to the Application Process.

Applications for first stage open on 11 May 2021 and will close once funding is exhausted.

Business Basics Grant  –  $5,000

The Business Basics program provides grants of up to $5,000 to new and emerging business to fund their core capabilities and adopt current best practices.

Applications for this grant will open on 31 May 2021.

Business Boost Grant  –  $15,000

The new Business Boost provides funding of up to $15,000 for established small businesses to support organisational development and upgrades through automated software and CRM systems.

The Queensland Government has indicated that the following categories of expenditure might also qualify for grant funding:
–    Advisory Services
–    Business Planning and Succession
–    Website Development
–    Strategic Marketing
–    Training and Coaching

Applications for this grant are expected to open late July 2021.
