Late last week, additional financial support was announced for businesses impacted by the recent South East Queensland and Cairns lockdowns.
Under the package, businesses in the state which have experienced a 30% reduction in turnover will be able to apply for payments of:
- $1,000 for non-employing sole traders
- $5,000 for small businesses with a payroll less than $1.3m
- $10,000 for medium sized businesses with a payroll between $1.3m and $10m and;
- $25,000 for large tourism and hospitality businesses with a payroll greater than $10m
We understand this package is in addition to the $5,000 payments announced by the Queensland government earlier last week. Applications for this grant opened today at midday and will remain open for three months, with all eligible businesses who apply for this grant during the 3 month application period receiving the grant. You can apply online with supporting evidence through the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) portal.
